Join in an open discussion with these panelists on the issues of gang violence, opportunities to empower communities, faith, and the future of Chicago. Our discussion will be moderated by Frontline's Nathan Tobey.

Focus of the film, Ameena Matthews' career has centered on interrupting gang and youth violence in Chicago. She is a CeaseFire violence interrupter in Englewood, IL. Ameena's inspiring work has earned her numerous accolades and awards, most recently BET's Black Girls Rock Community Activist of the year.

Hind Makki is an interfaith educator who develops and delivers trainings on civic integration through interfaith action and youth empowerment. She has co-developed and implemented One Chicago, One Nation, an initiative of the Interfaith Youth Core, which connected diverse Chicagoans through interfaith dialogue, community service and philanthropy. She has appeared on Al Jazeera’s "The Stream," was featured in The Economist, and has published a piece in The New York Times.

A seasoned community leader, Anton Seals Jr. is the Senior Advocacy Manager for the Illinois Network of Charter Schools as well as the Community Engagement and Transmedia Specialist for INTERRUPT VIOLENCE, which is a transmedia community campaign inspired by The Interruptors. This website allows users to share their experiences of coping with violence while finding resources, strategies, and inspiration for positive change.
