Join us for a new documentary co-produced by Texas PBS & Villita Media that will inspire you to visit the national parks of Texas. Presented to PBS stations by KLRN-TV in San Antonio, the film takes you on a journey through all 16 Texas National Parks.
In 2016, the National Park Service will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Texas is home to 16 National Park Sites, a rich and diverse collection of treasured places that draw 5.5 million visitors each year. The National Parks Of Texas: In Contact With Beauty celebrates the parks as a resource for all of us – with stories of their history, an opportunity to see what each park contains and a look at what the future might hold for them. KLRN is proud to be the presenting PBS station for this documentary that will be aired on all public television stations in Texas. Watch with us on April 26 at 7PM. #yourTXpark

A panel of experts will join to answer your questions and offer inside information. Then tune in in April 26 to catch the rest of these amazing parks.

- Lynn Boswell
Lynn Boswell is an award-winning producer and director based in Austin, Texas. She spent a year traveling across Texas to gather interviews and video of the state’s national parks. She grew up in San Antonio and spent nine years as a network news producer in New York before returning to Texas. Lynn crossed many things off her personal bucket list as she visited parks to producer this project. But she has added many more, and looks forward to more visits to these amazing parks, this time just for fun!
- Neel Baumgardner
Neel Baumgardner is a professor in the Department of History at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His research focuses on the development of national parks along the borderlands of Canada, Mexico, and the United States, including Big Bend and the Maderas del Carmen in the Chihuahuan Desert of Texas and Coahuila. In honor of the Park Service Centennial, he and his family are visiting all 16 park sites in Texas. Follow their exploits on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #tx16in16.
- Maria Lavender
Maria Lavender is an Interpretive Park Ranger at Big Bend National Park where she has worked seasonally and permanently since 2002, and she is currently the Park's Social Media Coordinator. Maria and her husband enjoy stargazing, backpacking, hiking, and canoeing adventures in their backyard Big Bend and she loves to share this beautiful Park with visitors!
