Video Descriptions

DBI Profile: Teachers and students discuss dropping out or being pushed out

Not every student drops out, many are pushed out by a system structured so that large numbers of children fail. Without alternatives where they can receive the individualized instruction and other support they need in order realize their potential, students will drop out. This video was produced by KET as a part of, "Dropping Back In", a series focusing on America's dropout crisis sharing inspiring true stories of learners who dropped out, dropped back in, and got their lives turned around. Dropping Back In is part of American Graduate: Let's make it happen. If you are interested in test prep materials for the #GED, #HiSET, or #TASC test, check out KET Fast Forward at www.ketfastforward.org/study/test-prep/ #KETFastForward #Droppingbackin #AmGrad

DBI Profile: Hasan Davis - from juvenile offender to champion for juvenile justice

Hasan’s family fell apart before he even started elementary school. He had learning disabilities, was arrested at age 11 and expelled from every school he attended. Through the support of a principal and mother who believed in him, he earned a GED® diploma, college and law degrees, and served as Commissioner of Juvenile Justice for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Davis is featured in KET's new Dropping Back In series. Learn more at droppingbackin.org.
