Welcome to Indie Lens Pop-Up virtual screening of Coded Bias hosted by John Michael Kohler Arts Center and Milwaukee PBS. After the film we will switch over to Zoom for a community conversation.
When MIT researcher Joy Buolamwini discovers that most facial-recognition software does not accurately identify darker-skinned faces and the faces of women, she delves into an investigation of widespread bias in algorithms that shapes the technology in our lives.
We are pleased to offer closed captions for this screening and ASL interpretation for the post-screening discussion.
Enjoy the show!
