Before You Know It
Dennis, Ty and Robert are pioneers in an "out" generation. They are also among the estimated 2.4 million LGBT Americans over the age of 55. "Before You Know It" celebrates the lives of active gay senior citizens who have witnessed unbelievable change in their lifetimes: from the Stonewall Riots to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and gay marriage rights.

Named one of Out Magazine’s “Out 100” and Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film," PJ Raval is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer whose credits include TRINIDAD (Showtime, LOGO) and BEFORE YOU KNOW IT (WORLD Channel) his latest documentary following the lives of three gay senior men described as "a crucial new addition to the LGBT doc canon" by indieWIRE. Also an accomplished cinematographer, PJ shot the Academy Award-nominated Best Documentary TROUBLE THE WATER and is a 2015 Guggenheim Fellow.

Ty Martin, the Community Liaison at SAGE Center Harlem, has worked as the organization’s Community Outreach Manager, Program Manager and Outreach Worker since March 2008. Ty is a native New Yorker living in Harlem, and his photo was used in the SAGE ad campaign “there’s no expiration date on a full and active life.” Ty has been interviewed by the New York Daily News (“Isolation an age-old issue for gay seniors”), Time-Out Magazine (”Meet the Marchers”), NEXT Magazine (“Faces of Change”), and has appeared in several interviews on TV, Cable and Radio.
