We'll watch the film Not in our Town: Light in the Darkness, followed by a panel discussion with Oscar Garcia - Deputy District Attorney, Special Operations Division, San Diego County District Attorney’s Office; Ellen Vest - San Diego Sheriff's Department Detective, Hate Crimes; Chris Saunders - Vice Chair of Hate Crimes Coalition; and Danelle Scarborough - Executive Director of San Diego Human Relations Commission.

A Community Responds to Anti-Immigrant Violence

The one-hour documentary chronicles the response of the Long Island village of Patchogue whose residents come together to confront racial intolerance after the 2008 murder of Marcelo Lucero, an Ecuadorian immigrant who had lived in the community for 13 years.
