Welcome

Teachers: We hope you'll join us for this virtual PD event for early childhood educators.

This 1 hour, virtual-PD event will feature a discussion on social and emotional curriculum for children aged birth-4. Featuring content from Emmy Award-nominated PBS KIDS show Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, this session will focus on media tools that can be used to teach our youngest learners about skills like patience, dealing with frustration, and how to understand and manage their feelings. A recent study showed that kids who watched Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood had higher levels of empathy, were better at recognizing emotions and were more confident in social situations. This event is targeted to teachers and other early childhood intervention specialists and will cover various tools eductors can use to emphasize these skills in classrooms, childcare centers, and home settings.

Speakers Include:

Cathy Cook, Manager of Education Projects, WQED Multimedia

Michelle Garmon, First Grade Teacher

Gina Masciola, Manager of Education Projects, WQED Multimedia
