How do blacks in the Mid-West live today? Who is at the core of the 'Afro-American' resistance? What do African-Americans want? To answer these questions, our film crew traveled to the poorest neighborhoods of St. Louis, and New York, as well as Ferguson, Missouri. The series explores the significant problems of ghetto dwellers – lack of education, criminality, drug abuse, teenage pregnancies, lack of housing, and police brutality. However, the communities won’t put up with the way things are. The series tells the story of how African-Americans fight for their rights, strive for success, lifting themselves out of poverty no matter what. BLACK LIVES is a 2018 award-winning documentary short series produced by RT Documentary Channel.
