Join the live OVEE online screening event featuring the Academy Award-nominated documentary LAST DAYS IN VIETNAM. A special guest appearance by filmmaker Rory Kennedy kicks off a 50-minute preview of the PBS film. Chat with a live panel of veterans and Vietnamese Americans from the film that escaped hours before the fall of Saigon 40 years ago this April.

This special event is presented by PBS Stories of Service, Veterans Coming Home, American Experience, Nashville Public Television, and the Independent Television Service and is made possible by support from the Center for Asian American Media and PBS.

AMERICAN EXPERIENCE: LAST DAYS IN VIETNAM | First Step to American Freedom | PBS Premieres Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 9/8c on PBS "Last Days in Vietnam," directed and produced by Rory Kennedy, recounts the chaotic final days of the Vietnam War and follows the unlikely heroes as they attempt to save as many South Vietnamese as possible.

    Nicholas Lepham is the co-founder and current President of the National Organization for Vietnamese American Leadership (NOVAL-DC), a nonprofit that promotes the professional development of Vietnamese American youth and preserves Vietnamese heritage and culture.

    Fred Shinbur


    Fred Shinbur has 40 years of service to the U.S. military. He began his service as an infantryman in Vietnam from 1968-69. He currently serves as a member of the Maryland Veterans Commission.
